My own learning during the first week of the IP (intensive programe) in Liège

In this moment I’m in a IP about e-culture e Generation Y with more students of others European countries (Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Austria). This IP take place on Helmo University in Liège, Belgium.

Now I made my own introspective to think about what I learn during the first week of this IP.

In the first days we talk in groups and in classes/presentations about many ICT tools when we use them in various works and situations. Starting with a wordpress blog for our group of work and another wordpress blog for “the Portuguese Crew” on this IP. In the group blog I have the opportunity to learn a little more about the .com wordpress platform, because I use more times the .org platform from wordpress, and I have the mission to teach for the others members of my group how to use the wordpress.

On this week I have the opportunity to leran about others ICT tools, some of them I just have use before and others are completely new for me. For example the Glogster, the Videoscribe, the Pearl Trees and the Wevideo are news for me and I like it very much and I can learn about it and use it in educational context.

With the teachers presentations I learn about web 3.0 – semantic web and new web strategies, learn about the reasons to use technology in education and how to use ICT to for example, show my work to the public and what are the advantages and disadvantages of this. I can learn more about e-learning and mobile learning and a little bit about learning by playing with applications or smartbords for example.

After this week I have more backgrounds to use new technologies in classroom and in my daily works.

In the end of the week my group visited a school who have a radio project and its really interesting see how it works and how can it be apply in the students classrooms and in the school community. In this visit we have in the radio studio make a small radio interview with one of the teachers from the radio project.

I have also the opportunity to visit Liège and made a video/presentation about one of the most important monuments in the city.

I think that all the week I learn more and interesting things and if this week of the IP keeps going in that way, after the two weeks we have many things to take with us to our schools and works.

Just a few words to the group. It’s a very great group and I think that all the students are happy with the first week of the IP and motivate to the second week.
